WEEK 4: ENHANCING my AD

Week 4: Evolving Audiences Activity
-ALA102

Hi! Welcome back to this week challenge.

About: On this challenge, I am going to enhance my story telling task last week a bit to make it analytically engage the audience.

Here is the link:  https://mypracticalone.home.blog/2020/03/21/week-3-challenge-story-telling-beated/.

Evaluation enhances:

Elaboration:

The fact is that redundant food really easy to be wiped off by using water. I would like to add a few cinematic effects to the preparation step (wearing the globe, taking the sponge, open the tap, some face close up scene to show some determined espressions… LOL ).

Moreover, putting a plenty of dramatic actions of finding the product like a true adventurer might bring the value of the product, the desire a higher stage. The main point is to emphasize the function of the product.

Synthesis:

  • I want a dishwasher that is nature, so I will run to the garden of lemon trees.
  • The product is harmless to hand, so I wash the dishes without globe.
  • The product is strong, cheap and much in capacity, there will be a scene that I accidentally drop the bottle and broke it. The liquid is dropping all the way back home and when I look back the street is purified, white and clean, and sunshine haha
  • ALL these ideas will help the audience understand the big Idea that this product well-qualified.

Target audience

  • Middle-age people, university student, family, households
  • Product related: household equipment, clothes, kitchen
  • Income: average
  • They want a product that is cheap, qualify, and safe

SMP-SINGLE MINDED PREPROSITION

The product will satisfy all the customers’ need in dish washing including hand safety, easy to use, normal smell, cheap, etc.

“It’s all you need.” Simple SMP will plays a good role in create trust sometimes.

Re-write:

Start:
A leisured man is living in a house with his sister, after finishing his delicious meal that keeps him away from starving because of the Corona sh!t. The guy finally figures out the mission of his life that will take away all of his masculine, mighty and especially he will be kicked out of the house. CLEAN THOSE BOWLS.

Middle:
The man immediately wears a glove, takes the sponge and open the tap with the eyes of fire and full of determined to make his destiny done( clean those silly bowls). However, thirty minutes pass over, the guy uses all of his bulky muscle to wipe the bowls. There is nothing change, the bowls still there, the dirt still sticking on the bowls with a cheeky smile to ear.

The man is powerless on cleaning and thinking about why, after all, his effort means nothing. “There might be something missing.” he thinks. He must deal with the bowls, the dirt before his sister comes home.

Suddenly, he rushes out of his house, running around to look for the “Thing”, there is a wall. Still, nothing can stop him now. He climbs the wall without minding about who is Newton, get over the wall quickly.

“A garden! There is a garden; it’s a lemon garden”. Everything he needs is under a lemon tree, lying there, shining. The guy grabs all and turn back home.

But unfortunately, he drops the dishwasher bottle to the ground, he picks it up and thinks there is nothing wrong with the bottle. He doesn’t mind that the liquid is dripping off all the way back home. It’s a long venture, but the bottle still fat and full. He turns around and surprisingly sees the way he went on is shining, bright and incredibly clean, “This thing is so powerful!”.

End:

Everything seems to be easy now. The only thing left he has to do is drop the liquid to the bowls, and all the stubborn silly dirt will be gone. He checks the bottle one last time to see if it is made from Australia, he needs it for his next assignment of Bob.
“Well, consider it done,” he said. His sister opens the door and surprise with all the thing he has done, she hugs him, and say:” you did it so well, so it’s your house job from now, you will clean all the dishes for everybody in the house…And one more thing, the toilet as well.”
They live happily ever since.

Week 3 Challenge: Story telling *BEATED*

#ALA102

This week’s Challenge is simply about creating an Aussie ad in around 10 pics that combined with concepts of 7 Universial story plots, and 12 archetypes from the source of Sparkol.

Archetype (Sparkol 2015): The Hero and The Explorer

Story plot (Sparkol 2019): The Quest

This ad is all going around a man trying to clean the food in those bows. No matter how hard, how well prepared he was (gloves, sponge and water) the left-away food still not “left” and remain the same shape.

He was then think of something is missing and start his journey to look for the thing because “Winter is coming” ( his sister will kick him out because of not washing his own finished bows).

After running around the world ( his front house), getting through all the walls, he finally found the stuff in the Lemon garden (His auntie’s backyard). The man, later on, check on the thing to make sure if it is made from Australia and surprisingly all the food is now gone. Congrats!! His voyage is really worth

…$3 AUD

EVALUATION :

Elaboration (Reinartz & Saffert 2013, para. 11): (4/5) The product is really easy to find, but I put in a journey to find it, and there are some reality-distorted scene. wall-climbing is the one that really crazy as well as the food is incredibly easy to go.

Synthesis (Reinartz & Saffert 2013, para. 14): (4/5): I let the man (me) found the product under the lemon tree with a lemon and a sponge to imply that the product is for dishwashing and its ingredient, function.

BEAT WEEK 2 CHALLENGE:
               Comparing and evaluating cultural differences
                               Based on the 6-Ds evaluation.
  Australia   vs  Vietnam

This week’s challenge part 1 is about pointing out the differences among cultures by using Hofstede Insight’ 6-Ds.

I am going to show you very clearly how influential cultures is, especially in ads execution, and content.

But first and foremost, let us have a look at those ads.

Here are the links:

As family ads, where we can recognize the culture of a country easily. There is a big contrast between Australian and Vietnamese ad as you can see, how people treat each other differently.

In term of Aussie’s ad, peoples’ behaviours are just generous, free and natural, the tone is happy and funny. Its time for Hofstede 6-Ds to give us some deeper angles.

  • Individualism (90/100): Australian got really impressive marks on this column, 90, which illustrates Aussies are pretty strong in personality and independent in life-style. In total, the degree of interdependence a society maintains among its members (Hofstede insights, n.d.).
  • Indulgence (71/100): They are willing to be straight forward and assessing problem-solving mindset (there are solutions to each situation), they are simply doing what they want to enjoy life and have fun and this is emphasized in most of the scenes (Hofstede insights, n.d.).

In contrast to the Australian ad, this Vietnamese ad has an extreme Asian cultural colour. An energy drink advertisement with an image of a man carrying the whole family on his shoulder, this might implicits that individualism is really a matter.

  • Individualism: (20/100) “everyone takes responsibility for fellow members of their group” and everyone happy about that, smiles on faces, that’s really a creepy smile no matter how tough the man is bearing. This must be an intense, clinic and very conservative culture in Vietnam (Hofstede insights, n.d.).
  • Indulgence: (35/100) smiling from start to end, family members must be very calm, and the rest meaning of those smiles might about Asian culture that always keep everything positive, avoid being frank and act to be polite at all cost.

Well , no more talking…This Thai ad is EPIC

#ALA102

Not related but extremerly related LOL

One more time, Thai’s ads make me so emtional all the time !!

a pic form the video

Comparing to the ad in part 1, this ad, I think is much more effective due to its duration which is crucially important and major where thousands of ads are surrounding us, an ad might be skipped if it is not attractive enough. Both are funny and informative in different ways but they are all very touchy to the audience.

Originality: Not having this ceiling product is absolutely a big crime that separates love, this ad original point is having the product will satisfy 2/5 for this section (Reinartz & Saffert 2013, para. 5)

Flexibility: At this point, I give 1/5 because it isn’t showing any connection between the product with other applications. High flexibility marks ad must link to various uses and ideas. (Reinartz & Saffert 2013, para. 8).

Elaboration: Look! how creative is the ad? At first, I thought this must be an ad about pesticide product or something that harm those lizards. BUT I have a big wrong, this ad flips my emotions over and over again, from curiosity to sad to LMAO in ways that I can never expect, they created a perception between the men with the lizards and make the audience believe in that perception.  5/5 for this section (Reinartz & Saffert 2013, para. 11)

Synthesis: 3/5. Yes, a separating start of those lizards is really relate to ceiling ( just kidding )

Artistic value: they did good animation to their ad, the quality of the video is great back to these years. Overall, this ad is a little bit old, however, the content created is not bad. My score: 3/5 (Reinartz & Saffert 2013, para. 16)

In conclusion, this ad is quite impressive to me, it might very budget, creative based on the criteria.

Workshop challenge part 1 #ALA102

LMAO Thai’s ads are always the BEST

LINK for you guys :https://www.adsoftheworld.com/media/film/peckish_go_so_big

This advertisement is pretty interesting. It reminds me when i was in the relationship with full of silly arguments starting from no-where.

The ad not rely too much on selling its product or over polishing it but giving watchers like me plenty of emotions …” WOW… this is so trueee”, ” This is actually what happens to me”, ” the ads just made for me LOL”, ” I can feel the stressful there”.

Which means this advertisement has an intensive “Attention grabbing” (West, Kover & Caruana 2008), p.42) and “New Associations” (Ewing, Napoli & West, 2001, p. 161).

Attention grabbing : This ad embrace attention by portraying the couple’s thinking with colorful and customized images of each gender, interest. Creating a context that make people believe in, thus concentrate emotions and memories.

New Associations: Just by expanding the idea of which crisp pack to buy, the ad have generated pretty much more stories to lead and attract viewers to the end.

They have successfully create a creative ad and make me laugh so hard.

A.I vs Digital Divide How DANGEROUS?

#ALM102DC

Date: 26/1/2020

Woww, this video is such an explosive one that I can easily see how improved I am, thanks to Bob for giving me a hand. First thing to talk about is my planning skill, my last project is also my best one in planning, I have tons of ideas to talk about, it even got over the required time when I recorded it in draft, around 10 MINUTES, it is much easier to do everything when I have specific plan, and structure of my project, but overall biggest inspiration came from Bob (my lecturer), I tried to note down every single Idea that he gave me, put them in keywords, then I did my brainstorming map, and it seems like my way, my plan gets much clearer. After collecting everything, every idea that I need, including references, news, forum and videos, I stared arranging everything tidily, having most of the ideas on order so that I can review and fix them faster and more convenient, last but not least in my planning stage is have my laptop folders and files are arranged, everything is meaningless when your project in your laptop is a mess, and while editing, you look like a scuba diver in a garbage truck, overall this project flowed smoother than any other one, I learned this from the last two videos. Second thing I want to drop in the discussion is my speaking skill, again, I can see it has been enhanced to a more stunning phase, less awkward and more effective, I can confidently record in an open-air place, I can ignore most of the distraction around me (including invitation from friends, and family on Lunar new year because I know where the progression is) and I am extremely satisfied with that. Moreover, in this project, I worked continuously, researched, watched videos on Youtube, looked for tips and tricks, how to plan, how to do new things and they are completely worthy. I love what I have done, that is the proof that I have improved, I have learned somethings that I want, but I will never stop learning, I want to gain more no matter how hard it is because I think there is nothing difficult, it just simply takes more time to finish, and I know my English is the main point to be enhanced, I love communication with people, and via videos is a good way to do it. In the phase I did this video, I was like immersed to what I am doing, time went extremely fast, I sat from 8 A:M till 9 P:M many days do this video without being fed up, I am very happy with that because I am a person that easily distracted from things around. Not only able to learn something from the assignment but I am also learn how important is the encouragement affects people, especially me, I like to encourage everyone around me, but no one has an encouragement that strong enough to push me forward, maybe because I push myself every day to be better a version of me, and really thankful for that, for the encouragement of my teacher (Bob TAN) that I feel much better and more creative, energetic in project and in this life in generally speaking. Overall, in this project, I made my effort combining everything I have learned in class and life into my project, I tried to have my video as much things I learned as possible, I note down the lectures, instructive videos, and Ideas from the teacher, listed down in another blank A4 paper about what I have learned, where I did I learn it and forced myself to apply at least 5 techniques from where I have learned, for example, I set my goals that I will watch 10 tutorial videos (i just watched 7 XD) and each of them I will list down everything I have learned, then sorted out at least 5 things I will use, this technique I made up by myself and it is incredibly useful. Last but not least, I want to send a message to my teacher, thank you for leading me through the way, giving me ideas and encouraging me, I really appreciate that, everything I want to do right now is give you a very tight hug, shake your hand. Hopefully, the in future, I can study with you, work with you or even travel and be a close friend to you, it is very nice to have a kind, friendly and dedicated teacher like you. Thank you very much!
